I've wanted to be a professional singer ever since the first time I saw The Little Mermaid, which was when I was in kindergarten. Since then, I've practiced with my voice religiously, trying to make it as clear and beautiful as possible. I've only taken about 5 vocal lessons all my life, but only quit because the instructors were only telling me what they thought I wanted to hear. I wasn't about to pay them every week to tell me that I was good, I needed constructive criticism and new techniques to practice. Anyway, when I started high school I began to idolize artists less for their singing ability and more for their writing. I'd always loved writing and decided to try it out. I was really bad at it in the beginning, but I've been writing for 7 years now and have become quite good, if I do say so myself :) I now have a simple home recording studio and lots of songs that haven't been recorded yet. The ones that have been recorded and are available for your listening pleasure are still just rough mixes of my favorite ballads I've written.
